Monumental damage has been done to Edo State by the Obaseki and the PDP administration. So, giving Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie the mandate to continue where they stopped will worsen the present predicament of Edo people.

If you vote for PDP, there will only be an inconsequential CHANGE in governance. But a vote for APC will lead to a radical SHIFT in the way things are done so as to have transformative effect on the impoverished lives of the people.

Well, in case you don't know, there is a difference between CHANGE and SHIFT. See, the term CHANGE connotes continuity of existing old things. A case of new wine in old bottles. On contrast, SHIFT denotes a tangential deviation from the past to an entirely new direction.

Yes, for APC, it is a SHIFT Agenda that will be pursued under Senator Monday Okpebholo and Dennis Idahosa.

Let us begin with EDSTMA. Certainly, the incoming administration of Okpebolo and Idahosa will rebuild it into a professional agency. The APC will jettison revenue target for the agency and arbitrary "judiciary" of entrapped motorists which today has turned the agency into a road monster.

The APC set up EDSTMA during Oshiomole's administration. Obaseki said that he would revamp the body. The revered oba of Benin was invited to the inauguration of the body.

However, the "rebranded" EDSTMA only operated professionally for a while before it transformed into a tool for terrorizing innocent motorists.

Infact; by May 14, 2019 a complain about EDSTMA to Independent Radio, Benin came from Ehis living on Ekehuan Road, Benin.

Hear his story: "i accompanied my friend arrested unjustly and dragged before a mobile court. He fell into an EDSTMA trap at a malfunctioning traffic light. The court fined him N3000. No problem. God day. We paid and then left. On the second day, we went to collect our impounded vehicle. But we discovered the fuel tank was empty!!"

On May 22, 2017 an unscheduled visit to Edo Line was paid by Obaseki. He expressed dissatisfaction with the state of the transport company which is an offshoot of Bendel Line set up by late military strongman, Dr. Samuel Oghemudia. Then, he promised to pay off the N1.6 billion owed by the company and acquire new operational assets for use in restarting it.

Hmmm, everyone clapped unknown to them the governor was engaged in Machiavellian empty, cheap political sweet talk.

When the clapping died down, he announced what he really came for!! His FOWLwish governance mannerism of deconstructing other people's projects and replacing them with own hidden agenda. He redeployed 186 employees of the company to the ministry of transport.

Discerning minds knew this staff relocation move sounded the death knell of Edo Line. He won't revamp the company. And; so, it has been.

Anyway, there is hope in the horizon. The issue of Edo Line will be re-examined when Senator Monday Okpebholo is the governor come September 21, 2024. No more deception.

Also, Okpebholo will bring on the table Edo people's concern about rejigging Ojirami Dam in Akoko-Edo which Obaseki on January 25, 2019 lied to the people he would fully rehabilitate.

In 2019, there was only one doctor in the Emergency Ward of the Central Hospital, Benin. So, trauma or injured patients had to queue up to see him. If you don't have money to go to a private hospital, you may die on the queue waiting to see him.

Rather than rebuild the health facility and manpower, Obaseki engaged in rationalization that we don't need central medicare but a decentralized one. Hey Abracadabra!

Central Hospital was demolished and replaced was replaced with a museum that will now contest with the privatized Edo Specialist Hospital, Benin. How you are!!

The PDP administration under Obaseki told journalists in Benin that a decentralized healthcare system is best for us even though he is not a medical doctor like his former next door Delta State counterpart operating a centralized medicare system.

Sadly enough, in the new dispensation there is no provision for emergency departments in all the Primary Healthcare Centres in Edo State. But there is an expensive one at the privatized Edo Specialist Hospital in Benin.

This hospital was built by the Oshiomole administration at a whopping eleven billion naira with tax payers' money and is supposed to be both for the rich and poor alike.

The PDP initially didn't want to deploy the health facility to useful purposes three years after Oshiomole left office. Edo Unity League led by its chairman Martins Abolagba on April 21, 2019 protested against the neglect of the facility.

Government in reaction announced that it will soon be opened for business.

True talk. But when it did, no poor Edo citizen can access it. Very expensive!! A private consortium " won the prize to run the facility in line with the PDP's neo-lliberal IMF policy.

All the same, APC gave Edo people a new hospital complex called Edo Specialist Hospital, Benin, while PDP is yet to build a single hospital.

Uhummwonde Local Government Council Area is thr largest in Edo State. Yet, no general hospital there. The PDP promised the people it will build one for them. It is promise and fail as usual by thè PDP. A habit of serial diabolic ingratitude and betrayals.

How about Stella Obasanjo Hospital Benin built by Chief Lucky Igbinedion? The PDP shut it down for rebuilding with donor funds. About 2 months to his departure the project is still work in snail progress.

Well, weep no more. When Okpebholo and Idahosa win, they will de-Obasekilize the health sector in Edo State and restore progressive grace to health care in the state.
